A one or two-year full-time research program at the NIH for recent undergrad graduates planning to apply to graduate or professional school. IRTA trainees are also eligible to participate in the NIH academy, in which they would receiving additional training in health outcomes and disparities.
Founded by Mélise Edwards, this US-based organization connects underrepresented students and mentors in STEM, who can help them navigate higher education, from the undergraduate to the graduate level.
Facilitates the transition of promising postdoctoral researchers from diverse backgrounds, for example individuals from groups underrepresented in the biomedical research workforce at the faculty level, into independent faculty careers in research-intensive institutions.
