Let’s introduce the #BlackInNeuro community to the world by amplifying each other! Participate by filming a ~1 minute video or sharing a few words introducing yourself, and post on social media with the hashtag #BlackInNeuroRollCall.

Welcome Session

Time: 9:00-9:45 AM PT | 12:00-12:45 PM ET | 5:00-5:45 PM BST

Let's kick off BlNW21! Come meet our executive board, learn what we've been up to, and our plans for the upcoming year. We'll also give a brief overview of some highlights for the upcoming week, so you can make sure you don't miss a thing!

Social Media Participation: #BlackInNeuroRollCall

If you identify as #BlackInNeuro, introduce yourself and tell us what you’ve been up to in a TikTok video, Instagram reel, and/or Twitter video!

************************************ INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ****************************************

Share a video in the form of a Tiktok or reel on Twitter or Instagram. In your video, share who you are, what you do, and fun-fact! Remember, make it short and simple, and keep jargon to a minimum. Please caption your videos as well, to ensure that folks who are hard of hearing can benefit from your explanation! Tik tok and Reels have caption capability built in, and we suggest Clipomatic as a captioning app for iOs, and AutoCap for Android.

To give you an example, check out this tik tok from #BlackInNeuroWeek Organizer, Emmanuella Bassey!

AND/OR share a tweet with a selfie, or an instagram post with the following text:
HI! I’m _________name_________, I’m a __insert career level and affiliation here___, and I __briefly describe what you do or study _______.

Since last year’s #BINW, I
____insert amazing things you’d like to share____.
We also want to highlight ALL of your intersections, so please add whatever hashtags describe you best, so we can help you find community (#BlackDisabledInNeuro, #BlackQueerInNeuro, #BlackEnbyInNeuro, etc.).

Finally, make sure to use the hashtags #BlackNeuroRollCall and #BlackInNeuroWeek and tag @BlackInNeuro! When posting images, add alternate text so people who have vision impairments can participate fully in the community.
